About me
I am currently an intern at the Cellular Genomic Medicine lab in the Department of Clinical Genetics (MUMC+) as part of my master’s in Data Science . My motivation for this project stems from the growing adoption of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector, a field I find increasingly compelling. I was particularly drawn to exploring a new area that I hadn’t previously engaged with, where I can apply data science techniques in varied ways and connect different approaches within the data domain. Additionally, I have the opportunity to be part of innovative, cutting-edge work and to collaborate with driven individuals who are passionate about advancing the field.
During this internship, I am focusing on the deconvolution of cfDNA to determine its origin. Specifically, I am working to develop and validate a method that can differentiate cell-free DNA (cfDNA) derived from the trophectoderm (TE) and inner cell mass (ICM) in embryos at the blastocyst stage, aiming to improve non-invasive preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
