About me
Currently, I am a master student in the AKO (Arts-Klinisch Onderzoeker) program. This means that over the past years, I have primarily focused on my medical studies, while also being actively involved in research. Previously, I completed my Bachelor degree Maastricht Science Programme, a research-oriented program that initiated my interest in genetics. During my bachelor, I already completed an internship within the CGM group, which I found extremely interesting. In my master program, I also did a short internship in an IVF setting, where I concentrated on early embryonic development. These experiences deepened my interest in genetics, particularly in the field of reproductive genetics.
Since reproductive genetics is a crucial field, as it delves into the very foundations of life itself, I am eager to keep contributing to advancements in this area. Therefore I decided to join the CGM team again for my master internship to contribute to expanding the screening capabilities of the current NIPT test. In the future, as both a researcher and a physician, I hope to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
